Week Number 4

May 4, 2009

Yup, it’s already week number four for us interns at Seer. And, someone here at Seer made our day! At last we finally received our…

Case study! Hahaha joke. That was last week. This week, well… Hehehe. ANYWAY.

For our third case study, I found iBATIS as a really helpful tool for SQL querying since it makes things a whole lot easier — not only does it make the code a bit shorter, it also is more readable than if you create a java file with SQL queries in its functions (the MODEL in the MVC framework). As for the other two technologies that we are currently using… Well, at first, I got a bit confused with the difference between Struts and Spring as they are both Java frameworks. I found out that Spring is more on the MODEL part and Struts is more on the VIEW and CONTROLLER part in the Model-View-Controller or MVC framework. These three technologies, when used together, allow for a more readable and concise code (especially with the use of Struts tags in the JSP pages) so it’s really great that I’m able to learn these stuff here at Seer. Yay! :D :D :D
