I stated in my previous blog that the GUI I made for my fourth project can only convert a music file one at a time. So this time, Sir Ardee asked me to make the GUI more advanced to the point that it can convert multiple music files. What it should basically do is queue the music files and convert them sequentially. I discovered a component of the AWT of Java that mostly solves this problem: List. I tried to learn how to use it first before applying it to the GUI. And when I did, it was a perfect fit for this version of the project! However, due to the lack of time, I didn’t get to finish this project. Sir Ardee said it was okay if I didn’t finish it. He said he’ll be the one to continue it. Hehe!

Finally, my OJT is done. Although I feel bad because I left some unfinished business but my overall experience in Creo was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! They made my one and only OJT experience the best one! I learned a lot of stuff. And I can actually see that my programming skills improved! Thanks to everyone that make up Creo! I look forward to working with you all in the future!

Last Day

My fourth project involved a program that was previously done by Sir Ardee. What the program basically does is to convert a sound file to another sound file. I was tasked to create the GUI of that program because it didn’t have any GUI and the selection of the files to be converted and the destination of the new files were hard-coded.

I actually had fun with this project because I really like designing user interfaces. Also, I didn’t have to think that much. I actually used the GUI Builder of Netbeans, which was another fun thing to do because the components were all drag-and-drop. Actually, before this project, I wasn’t that comfortable with using the GUI Builder because I didn’t know how to control the actions that corresponds to the components. However, I challenged myself to use it and understand it and so I did. Now, I know how to control the actions! Yey! I finished the GUI by June 4. However, it was just a simple GUI that can convert one music file only.

What I did then was help out the company in one of their real projects. They were meeting a deadline and they asked me to help them finish the website they were tasked to do. Mobius, the website, contained a lot of forms. I was given the front end of the forms and my task was to program the back end. I had to code the form validations and Java Script of the various forms. I did about 6 forms. The good news was, the deadline was extended. *phew* So, we continued working with it for the rest of the week.

SA WAKAS! Matapos ang halos dalawang buwang pagcocode nang walang tigil, pagpasok nang sobrang aga sa puntong nauunahan pa magbukas ang opisina, pag-uwi nang sobrang gabi sa puntong sasaraduhan na ni Kuya Ric, pagcommute papuntang Makati at pagbalik sa bahay namin, pagdedebug ng mga mali sa program, pagsasaliksik sa internet ng mga halimbawa at depinisyon ng mga hindi kilalang konsepto at kung anuano pa, masasabi naming tapos na kami!!!

Sobrang maraming salamat sa aming mga guro dito na sina  Sir Jason Dela Pena, Maam Gem Daradar, Sir Tong Unson and Miss Kristel, ang aming mga kapwa intern na sila Raisa at Clang at ang aming ibang mga kaibigan dito na sila Cez Castro, David Achacon, Dy Bandojo, Charm Cayetano, Miss Ludewig and Miss Cathy. Sobrang natuwa po kami sa aming paglagi dito sa SEER sa loob ng dalawang buwan.

Hindi maipagkakailang madami kaming natutunan dito. Mula Java, struts 2, Spring, Ibatis, frameworks at kung anuano pa! Nakakatuwang isiping hindi lang namin natapos na project, mas may karanasan na kaming mga developers. Buti na lang talaga hindi namin pinalampas ang pagkakataong ito. Salamat sa lahat!

Woohoo! Huling araw na namin ngayon Seer. Matapos ang higit kumulang 2 buwan na pag-iintern, makakapag bakasyon na kami. Naipakita na namin kanina sa aming mentor at sa HR Personel ng Seer ang project na ginawa namin. Natuwa naman sila sa kinalabasan ng aming nagawa. Noong una pa ay kinakabahan kami dahil baka umabot pa kami ng Miyerkules kung may ipapabago pa sila. Pero buti na lang at nagawa namin ng maayos, kaya naman, makakapagbakasyon na rin kami. Yey! Masasabi kong isang magandang experience ang pag-iintern ko sa Seer. Marami akong natutunang bagong bagay at teknolohiya na, hindi naman talaga maituturo sa silid-aralan. Nakakapagod nga ang pag-iintern pero ito naman ay worth it. Paniguradong ma-mimiss ko ang ganitong ‘environment’ sa pasukan. Goodbye Seer, Hello Again UP!

Totoo na ‘to!! Tapos na talaga ang OJT namin sa Seer. Sa wakas ay natapos na namin ng buong-buo ang aming proyekto. ‘Di na gigising nang maaga, ‘di na mapupuyat! Salamat po! Wahahaha

So far, the week was filled with the retouching and bug tracing of the spybiz site.  I learned the technology of fckeditor, which is a handy text editor for the internet.  I can finally now see the final stage of the site and I hope we all finish things up before the week ends.
